I enjoyed the Black Mesa Brass performance... and they're playing again this Wednesday!

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the Black Mesa Brass Quintet perform this evening at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Santa Fe.

Members are (from right to left) Jan McDonald, Bruce Warren, Jerry Morzinski, Jeremy Best and Bruce Letellier.

They played

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, by G.F. Handel

Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child, traditional spiritual arranged by David Marlatt

Contrapunctus IX from "Art of the Fugue," by J.S. Bach

It Don't Mean a Thing, by Duke Ellington

Killer Tango, by Sonny Kompanek

Scherzo, by John Cheetam

Chebucto Rag, by E.F. Lloyd Hiscock

Their next performance is this coming Wednesday, April 6th, at noon at the Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos, NM for the Brown Bag Series.

While you wait, enjoy this video of them playing It Don't Mean a Thing....
